Based on a true story, this takes place during world war two, the Russians decide to make a hero of their number one sniper by posting the daily kills in the paper to boost moral of the troops. The Germans then send their best (Ed Harris) to kill the hero and their own private war starts.

My favorite novel of all time is Point of Impact by Steven Hunter, it's about a master sniper named Bobby Lee Swagger, so when I heard this movie was about snipers, I was excited, but I ended up reviewing the movie as this.....

Extremely boring with moments of extreme suspense.

What I mean by that is, the movie just kind of trolls along, ho hum.... then wham! You are on the edge of your seat for a few minutes then back to the war......then you are on the edge of your seat.... then they throw in a love story....boring......then the suspense again. Most of this suspense comes when the Ed Harris character is around.

Now mind you the acting is first rate, Ed Harris is on a role this year, every performance of his is gold. But I was mostly bored with the storyline.

All the other critics that saw the screening with me disagreed with me, but that's nothing new.
